Fast Runzas

These aren't the individual sandwiches you get at the Runza restaurants in Nebraska.  This is the cheater's version where you make them on a cookie sheet and cut them up into sandwiches.  The kids loved this.  They probably would be more likely to eat this than the regular runzas made with bread dough, because crescent rolls are their favorite.  I altered a recipe from recipeland.com.

2 tubes crescent roll dough (I used reduced fat)
1 lb ground beef
1/2 of a sweet onion, chopped (large or small depends on your taste for onion)
1 small bag coleslaw (no dressing)
1 tsp seasoned salt (use more or less to taste)
salt and pepper to taste

Saute onion for a few minutes.  Add ground beef and brown until almost done.  Add coleslaw mix and continue to saute until beef is done and coleslaw is wilted.  Add salt, pepper, and seasoned salt to taste.

Open one package of crescent rolls.  Don't separate.   Stretch or roll to fit jelly roll pan.  I think I used nonstick foil underneath.  You could also spray with cooking spray instead.

Cover crescent roll dough with ground beef mixture.  Then stretch second package of crescent rolls over top.  Bake according to crescent roll directions.  Cut and enjoy.
